Travelon Theft Proof Travel Bag Reviews: Protect Your Belongings on the Road

travelon bag reviews

Travelon is a popular brand of travel goods, claiming to help you “travel easier and safer.” The company was founded 30 years ago as a manufacturer of luggage carts but has since expanded to over 400 travel products and accessories, specifically their anti-theft travel bags.

Travelon Product Range

Their products are known for their theft-proof aspects, including mesh lined fabrics, lockable zippers and RFID blocking technology. Travelon’s bags also tend to be less expensive than their competitors. That combined with a five year warranty make this brand of travel gear something worth adding to your packing lists.

In addition to anti-theft travel bags, Travelon makes waterproof items like dry bags, waterproof pouches and waterproof earbuds. Their toiletry bags come in a variety of sizes and they make travel-sized hair appliances. The company is also a one-stop shop for accessories like luggage tags, toiletry bottles, luggage scales, and everything in between.

Travelon Theft-Proof Bag Reviews

Anti-Theft Signature Slim Pouch

Guest writer Emily talked about what she loved about the Travelon Anti-Theft Signature Slim Pouch in her review. When she moved to Japan, she wanted a bag that would work for both travel and everyday life. She wanted something small, versatile and stylish, but with safety features that would prevent pickpocketing. The bag’s safety features won her over, including anti-slash fabric and straps, locking zippers, and RFID safe pockets. A locking carabiner can attach to chair legs and other items to prevent theft.

The interior pockets allow for every item to have its own space. This includes three slots for your phone and a latching pocket for your valuables. The bag is made in three different colors, so it can go with just about any outfit. It’s small enough that it isn’t annoying to carry, but it has enough room for everything you need. You won’t be digging to the bottom to find your room key!

Anti-Theft Classic Messenger Bag

Guest writer Kristin purchased the Anti-Theft Classic Messenger Bag for its security features, but never knew she would need it until the bag thwarted would-be thieves in Porto, Portugal. One man came up to her and tried to grab her camera while another reached for her bag. The “lobster claw” feature that holds the zipper in place prevented grabbing hands from snatching her valuables inside.

This is the most important feature of the bag, but it also has different compartments for all your items. One side pocket can hold items you need to quickly access, while interior pockets protect your passport and phone. It’s even big enough to hold some digital cameras! Outer pockets can expand and there’s an additional pocket for your water bottle. The cable strap is reinforced to prevent slashing and is also adjustable. Despite its price, the bag is a worthwhile purchase for the peace of mind it provides.

Anti Theft React Small Crossbody Bag

While the bag wasn’t what my sister was looking for when she purchased it for a long trip through Southeast Asia, the features that initially drew her to the React Bag were the size, cross-body style and the locking carabiner. The bag also has a zipper as well as a flap over it to prevent grabbing hands that much more. It has pockets for all of your items and sturdy zippers. It has a more modern look than their traditional silhouettes. It has the same water bottle slot as some of Travelon’s other theft-proof bags and exterior pockets. It comes in a variety of sizes and colors, depending on your specific needs.

In addition to the cross-body bags listed here, Travelon also makes theft-proof versions of weekend duffels, briefcases, shoulder bags and backpacks. You can also choose from different looks, like the more modern and edgy React series or the more traditional Signature series.

These bags are so cool and useful. However, it would be appreciated if they could make the bags more attractive and professional looking like my Von Baer Bag.
