This post is a part of a series about females traveling with suitcases. Today’s interview comes from Catherine Zoerb, who tells us about her funky Zuca Pro, a suitcase that has become a favorite of flight attendants and business travelers alike.
I’m Catherine! I’m 33, and I love to travel! It is my goal to see the whole world, so I’m always looking for ways to do it on a budget, and trying to fit it in around my 8-5 job and the other trappings of my grown up life. When I’m not traveling or working, I’m hanging out at home with my awesome husband and blogging at A (P)interesting Year.
Tell us about your suitcase brand, style and price.
I have the Zuca Pro, and I paid $295 for it. I paid another $295 to get one for my husband a few years later. It has been worth every penny.

Is it too big, too small or just right?
It’s a perfect size for me. It’s small enough for carry on, but big enough to fit quite a bit of stuff in it.
Is it fabric or hard shell?
It is fabric, but has a very light aluminum frame around it. You can sit on it!
Spinner or roller?
It is a roller, and has two wheels.
What made you choose your brand and style of suitcase?
I refuse to check bags, and I wanted a bag that looked professional enough for business travel, but was rugged enough for my other adventures. I’d read about several bags, but the being able to sit on it was what sold me. I’ve been stuck in many airports without seating, and nothing sucks more then getting off a 16 hour flight and having to wait around for a connecting flight with no seating in the waiting room. I also love that it is designed for packing cubes, which is my prefered way of packing.
What features of this luggage do you love? Are there any you would like to see changed or improved?
It is the width of an airplane aisle, so I don’t have to *carry* on my carry on. I turn it around and push it in front of me.
Can you carry this suitcase onto airplanes?
Yes indeed! It’s designed for business travelers and it fits the standard carry on size for planes in the United States.
What sort of traveler and trip is this suitcase perfect for?
This bag is geared more towards business travelers, but I think that lots of types of travelers can benefit from this bag. It is advertised as a short business trip type bag, but light packers can get more than a short trip out of it. My Zuca and I recently spent two weeks in Sri Lanka, and we’re headed to Italy in March. Carry on is the way to go!
Would you recommend this suitcase to other traveling females?
Absolutely! I tell everybody who travels with a suitcase that they *have* to get this bag! I’m a Zuca evangelist.
