Women-focused iPhone travel apps are not as easy to find as one might think. We’ve done a bit of searching and were able to come up with these 6 apps for the traveling woman that can help enhance a trip- by making it more safe, more pleasant, and more fun! We’d love to know if you have any other apps to share as well!
How about a nice iTunes gift card for yourself or a friend? It’ll help you get these apps and more downloaded onto your iPhone.
This app was originally designed for college students walking home late at night, but we think it could work well for women while they’re traveling. The app uses GPS to track where you’re going while a companion you have chosen from your contacts list virtually keeps you company to make sure you’ve reached your destination safely. The Companion app can detect changes in your movement that could indicate a problem, send alerts to your companion, turn into an alarm system, and contact the police. (Note: There may be some limitations or data fees when using this app in a foreign country, so check ahead of time.)
Size Me Woman – International Clothing Size Converter
Are you a traveling lady that loves to shop? You may have noticed that clothing sizes are not universal, and what goes in one country might be the complete opposite for you in another. That’s where the Size Me Woman app comes into play. With this app, you simply choose your country in relation to your home country (much like a currency conversion app), input the value and find out the equivalent. It works for dress, shoe and bra sizes in several countries.
Ultimate Girls’ Day Out
The Buenos Aires guided audio walking tour take females to the best of the best in the city when it comes to beauty and fashion. Your route is displayed on the app’s map, and if you get lost, you can use the “Find Me” assistance button to get you back on track. Some of the sights along the walk include Galerias Pacifico and Roho Hair Boutique.

While not specifically for females, the Google Translate app is a must for any female traveler. It translates 90 different languages, and it can use your phone’s camera to translate text into 26 different languages. You can star and save translations for future use, so if there are key phrases you need often, they will always be handy.

This app is perfect for female travelers in America that need a quick weekend away from the men in their lives.
Physical maps can be annoying and make you stand out as a tourist. As an alternative, try the Maps.me app which provides detailed maps of just about any destination around the world. Best of all, the maps are available offline, so you don’t need to use your data plan on the road. The app has walking directions as well as driving and public transport directions, and it includes points of interest such as restaurants, ATMs, tourist attractions, and more.
