After many successful interviews with ladies about their backpacks, we’re excited to feature a new series which asks travelers about what suitcases they travel with. Our next is with music industry account manager Alexa and her Briggs and Riley Transcend!
I’m Alexa Brooks and I work as a digital account manager in the music industry. I love traveling far and wide and do a bit of business travel as well.
Tell us about your suitcase brand, style and price.
I have a Briggs and Riley 22 inch expandable suitcase. I was able to find it for $240 on sale at Edward’s Luggage in the Bay Area. I like Briggs and Riley because there is a lifetime warranty. It’s a standard rollaboard with a nifty umbrella holder. I was looking for a sturdy everyday style suitcase for business trips and something I can use on under a week trips.

Is it too big, too small or just right?
The size is perfect and fits in the overhead bin, even in the narrow American Airline planes.
Is it fabric or hard shell?
The suitcase is made of green fabric.
Spinner or roller?
The roller suitcase has two wheels.
What made you choose your brand and style of suitcase?
I liked that it was green but have not really had to check it. I much rather not check in the event it disappears.
What features of this luggage do you love? Are there any you would like to see changed or improved?
I love that it is so sturdy. It’s been to New York and back to California MANY times and it still looks new. I love the umbrella holder so I don’t have to keep track of it while traveling. There is also a wet pocket for swimsuits and laundry (although I don’t use it very much). There is also one extra interior pocket for odds and ends. I do miss having several interior pockets, but it does seem to be more roomy than my previous 22 inch. You do have to be careful about overloading as the case gets too heavy to lift up by yourself.
Can you carry this suitcase onto airplanes?
Yes, this is my preferred method.
What sort of traveler and trip is this suitcase perfect for?
It’s perfect for week or less trips, specifically for business travel because it looks professional, but is also great for vacations.
Would you recommend this suitcase to other traveling females?
Yes, I would great suitcase! Great for females traveling along who want something they can lift up themselves and not worry. Packing cubes like Eagle Creek fit perfectly in this suitcase as well. Normally they are not cheap but once or twice a year they have pretty big sales.
