This is a post in an ongoing feature on Her Packing List called “The One Little Thing“. Each week or two, I’ll be interviewing a traveling lady to find out the one little thing she just can’t travel without. This one is brought to you by Andi Perullo:
My name is Andi and I am a travel addict!
I am a Chinese Medicine doctor/travel writer and photographer.
When I am not treating patients, I am either traveling or dreaming of my next destination.
I have stepped foot in over 50 countries and 6 continents, studied abroad in China and South Africa, and was married in Argentina.
What one little thing can you not travel without?
A little black dress (LBD).
Why has this one item been so important to you?
An LBD can take me trekking in tropical rainforests to painting the town red at night. It is comfortable and at the same time chic!
How packable is it? Does it take up much room? Is it heavy?
It takes up next to no space. Plus, since it can be worn during the day and at night, you can eliminate other items of clothing.
Why would you recommend this to your travel friends?
Because a women always wants to look her best! Black is slimming, it goes with everything in your wardrobe, and it photographs really well.
Can you name one incident or situation where you were so happy to have this item with you?
I have so many, as every single time I travel I am happy that I brought it with me. And I have a ton of followers that email to ask me how I always look good in my photos. I promise it is the LBD!
How did you hear about this item?
The LBD has been a woman’s best friend since its creation.
What sort of traveler is this item perfect for?
Any female traveler is perfect for a LBD. There are thousands of variations, so it is easy to find the perfect one (or three).
